Digital marketer from Montreal, Quebec with a diversified skill set in web design, web development, web management, web analytics and an advanced knowledge in digital marketing and search engine optimization techniques.

I currently work for Digital Wealth Media, a company specializing in estate planning and digital products such as last will packages. Prior to this, I spent my 20-year career at The Hughes Trustco Group Ltd., an online life insurance brokerage firm since 2000. The company and I became early adopters of internet marketing trends and internet technologies during the dot-com era. With over 20 years of experience online, I've seen the rise of SEO, PPC, Web Analytics and various tools and techniques throughout my career.  Over the span of 2000 to 2010, I generated thousands of organic leads for HughesTrustco.com on term life, whole life, disability, critical illness and health insurance.

In 2010, I created and developed LifeAnnuities.com to generate annuity leads; making it an integral part of our online marketing strategy. Today, LifeAnnuities.com has been recognized as Canada's leading annuity authority, with mentions in the Globe and Mail, Financial Post, The Telegraph, Canadian MoneySaver, MoneySense and cited in academic resources such as Segregated Funds and Annuities (LLQP manual) and Personal Financial Planning, 5th Edition.

Over the next 12 years, I was responsible for the site’s end-to-end management, including development, content creation, SEO, lead generation, custom form design, traffic growth through educational articles and building client tools such as an annuity calculator.

LifeAnnuities.com was acquired by a private buyer on February 10, 2022. This concluded a successful 12-year journey of development and management.

Quoting Specialist Over 20 years of expertise in insurance and annuity quoting and application processing. Created quotes for life, health and annuity products using illustration software from top Canadian insurers including Canada Life, Manulife, Sun Life, Empire Life, BMO, iA Financial, RBC Insurance and more. Used Cannex and Compulife to compare options and generate illustrations. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, WHAT I'VE DONE!

Web Design and Development Experience in Bootstrap front-end frame work, developing responsive mobile pages on the web with clean, W3C compliant code. Knowledge in HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, Elementor, Webflow, Shopify and WordPress. Some familiarity in back-end framework using PHP, MySQL database, phpMyAdmin to create database tables and online calculators.

Website Manager Recommended and implemented digital marketing tools and strategies to increase organic traffic and conversion rates. Continuously improving website user experience for better conversions. Publish and optimize website content for search engines.  Manage and update WordPress themes, plugins and WP versions.

Web Hosting Setup Registering domain names, configuring nameservers with registrar, enter hosting IP address. Setup webhosting account. Published websites to server. Experienced in configuring the web hosting server, setting up email accounts, modifying the DNS (nameserver) through cPanel/Plesk.

Today, I integrate AI into day-to-day tasks to accelerate content planning and development. I use AI to structure article templates, source quotes, gather supporting data and build section-by-section outlines. However, I do not use AI to write the final articles. All content is passed to a professional copywriter to ensure it meets Google’s preference for human-written content and maintains editorial integrity, Which I strongly believe increases our chances of earning AI mentions and first-page rankings on Google.

Landing Page Optimization Created landing pages to drive qualified traffic to achieve business goals. Developed actionable landing pages that led to micro and macro conversions. Each micro conversion led to an increase in email subscribers while the macro conversion generated online leads. The main goal to landing page optimization is to increase conversions, time spent on site reduce the bounce rate, while trying to continuously improve website user experience.  

Lead Generation Created online lead forms and calculators as strategic sales funnels to grow subscriber base and increase lead generation. Generated thousands of high-quality organic leads on term life, whole life, disability, critical illness and health insurance from 2000 to 2010 for hughestrustco.com and related microsites. From 2010 to 2022, generated high-quality organic annuity leads through SEO-driven content and strategy on LifeAnnuities.com.

SEO & SEM Deep technical knowledge and expertise in current SEO best practices to drive qualified traffic. Achieved hundreds of first page listings in Google, Bing and Yahoo. Optimized images and added rich snippets based on structured data. Implemented title tags, description tags, added relevant links and improved site speed. Conducted competitive analysis on keywords, rankings, backlinks and finding competitors Facebook and PPC ads. Performed comprehensive keyword research, link building, added title tags, description tags, alt tags, image titles, anchor text, Twitter Cards and Facebook Open Graph Markup.
